The first collaboration between American watch brand TIMEX and popular fishing brand Abu Garcia is here. A unique specification that is perfect for fishing fans, such as adopting a lure style case with the logos of both brands on the package.

Timex has been in business for over 167 years since it was founded in Connecticut in 1854, and Swedish-born fishing gear maker Abu Garcia is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. They don’t immediately have obvious points in common but for those who are clued up will understand.

In fact, Abu Garcia’s predecessor was a pocket watch manufacturer that was also favored by the Swedish royal family, so they share the common DNA of watchmaking.

This model sees the brands collaborate for the first time and it uses materials and colors that are reminiscent of Abu Garcia’s reels, but based on Timex’s iconic “original camper.”

While the usual original camper used a resin case, the collaboration model is changed to stainless steel. The bead blasting finishes it in a fearless black that is reminiscent of Abu Garcia fishing reels.

In addition, the back cover, which is finished in black like the case, is engraved with the crest of the Swedish royal warrant, which is also included in the famous Abu Garcia reel the “Ambassador”. It has very special specifications, such as incorporating the actual Swedish military watch design.

The original package will also appeal to anglers. It has special specifications such as adopting a lure case with the Timex and Abu Garcia brand logos. In addition, a limited edition sticker with phosphorescent and waterproof specifications made for this collaboration is also included.

This special watch is scheduled to go on sale in mid-December 2021, and reservations will be accepted on Wednesday, December 1st.
