Recently there are many fishing-inspired and authentic brand apparel items that are attracting attention at the same time as the unprecedented fishing boom. We take a look at two of the latest models of fishing inspired jackets that pay particular attention to the pocket work.

SOUTH2 WEST8

First up, from the outdoor brand “SOUTH2 WEST8”, who is based in Hokkaido. Their design is influenced by clothing brands from the United States, and they have created a heavy-duty jacket with a lot of visual impact and functionality.

Multi-Pocket Zipped 2Way Jacket – Poly Ripstop ¥53900

Although it is a heavy-duty specification that uses polyester ripstop fabric, it also has stretchability. This new model for the 22SS season features a total of 28 pockets.

Many zip and flap pockets are placed not only on the front but also on the back.

The arm part can be removed with a zip, so you can wear it with long or short sleeves according to your needs.

is-ness × SIERRA DESIGNS

Next is a bespoke model that uses the original pattern from “is-ness”, which celebrated their 20th anniversary recently, and collaborated with the long-established American brand “SIERRA DESIGNS”.

EZ GEAR JACKET ¥52800

Bespoke fishing specifications that incorporate many small details that is typical of Is-ness, combined with adopting the Sierra’s original color pattern from the 90’s and a 60/40 cloth. It also features a wide body and modern silhouette.

It has a large zip pocket on the back.

Along with Is-ness’ colorful tape tags, Sierra uses the so-called “three-wood tag” used during the 90’s.
