“CONVERSE” has chosen the theme of “BRAND-NEW VINTAGE” for this season. From their rich archives, a retro yet fresh pair of sneakers full of originality has been created. Here we will take a look at how their freedom of design has birthed a new take on an old classic.

ALL STAR J VTG WEIGHTTRAINER HI ¥19800

The basemodel is the “Weight All-Star Trainer” that appeared in 1959 with the aim of strengthening the muscles of the legs. The weight attached to the sole part has been removed, and the design at that time has been reproduced with the excellent technical capabilities of Japanese manufacturing.

It features an eye catching blue toe cap. It has a simple design and color accent.

The canvas used on the upper is made by Fuji Kinume, a canvas maker that sticks to Japan-made manufacturing from spinning to weaving. The thick and voluminous texture is a key point to look for.

The logo is marked in red on the canvas insole. The color scheme is casually inspired by the Japanese flag.

With the craftsmanship unique to Japan, they have added re-imagined a familiar classic and updated it to a retro and quaint design. Nostalgic for the vintage freaks of yesteryear, it looks fresh to those in their twenties who enjoy modern fashion, and holds the age old appeal of the world famous Converse brand.
