“FDMTL (Fundamental)” is an apparel brand that sticks to the principal of “Made in Japan” from the fabrics used to the sewing and processing. The brand, which specializes in manufacturing using original denim and sashiko fabric, has announced a crossover collection that jumps across genres and collaborates with popular outdoor brands.

The partners for the collaboration are the well known Korean brand “Helinox” and the German brand “HEIMPLANET”, which is known for its tents that use air frames. This is a unique collection that re-imagines some of the staple gears of the two brands with a pattern unique to FDMTL.

In collaboration with Helinox, based on the “CHAIR L”, which is one size larger than Helinox’s flagship model the “Chair One” and creates a comfortable seating experience, and the “TABLE M”, which is also a staple item of the brand. They have developed a new version of these models that feature the original FDMTL pattern fabric throughout.

The original pattern, which seems to be fundamentally sticking to Japanese materials and is reminiscent of old clothes sewn with rags, is well aged and completely changes the impression of the staple gear that we are well accustomed to.

[HEIMPLANET] Bold re-arrangement of their signature model.

HEIMPLANET × FDMTL THE CAVE TENT BORO ¥132000

This is based on “THE CAVE” which is a signature item of Heimplanet and a popular tent, re-imagined with the same aged patchwork style fabric from FDMTL. The crossover design, in which the geometric frame structure and the pattern of good old Japanese fabrics in harmony, has a novel and stylish look that is almost like a piece of art.

This project, which is a fusion of modern outdoor gear created with cutting-edge technology and a fundamental original pattern that expresses the traditional culture of Japan, can be said to be a unique collection that transcends time and culture. If you want to change your usual camping style, try adding this type of artistic item to update your style.

From January 25, 2022 (Tuesday), it will be on sale at the FDMTL online store and some domestic and overseas dealers (as of January 17, 2022, same-day sales at FDMTL Ebisu are not planned).
