The Okinawa outdoor concept shop “Narrative outdoor supply” in Ginowan City has made a bespoke order from the popular brand “WONTON” for a special type of gear cases made of Dyneema material.

Since olden times, there has been a custom of wrapping food called “Kuwacchi” in a furoshiki (traditional cotton towel often used in bathhouses) and carrying it around. This bespoke work has been upgraded into a tough material that can be used outdoors, using that “Kuwacchi” as the inspiration and with a playful twist.

QUATCHEE TYVEK M ¥3580 / TYVEK L ¥6600 / DYNEEMA M ¥5500 / DYNEEMA L ¥9900

A lineup of furoshiki made from Dyneema and Tyvek materials, which are both extremely lightweight and tough. As a result of a design process focusing on simplicity, it is a highly versatile item that can be used not only outdoors but also for leisure and daily use.

In Okinawa, where it is customary to wrap food in a bag and carry it around, the furoshiki is a must-have item for everyday life. The “QUATCHEE”, which is suitable for usage even outdoors, is a multi-purpose item that can be used for carrying food, leisure seats, and changes of clothes.

Eyelets are also attached to the side, so you can peg it down and use it as a ground sheet or a simple tarp. When not in use, it can be folded and carried like a sacoche bag. The outdoor-like appearance that makes the best use of the texture of the fabric is also a key point.

If you’re an outdoor hobbyist, we are sure you’ll be intrigued by this bespoke item unique to Narrative that incorporates high-performance materials into local Okinawan culture. For more information, check out the information on the official Narrative Instagram page.
